Female Urology
Female incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse (bulging of the bladder or bowel into the vaginal wall) are common problems affecting millions of women around the world. Prolapse can be uncomfortable, can cause irritative urinary symptoms, and can make women prone to urinary tract infection. A history of vaginal deliveries and post-menopausal state are common risk factors. Nearly always these conditions are related to anatomical defects and as such require surgical intervention. Medications may alleviate urinary symptoms but unfortunately cannot correct the underlying problem. We perform operations to correct hypermobility of the urethra which can be a cause for incontinence. We also perform surgery to relieve pelvic organ prolapse.
